The Cool City!

My hometown is Portland (among many that I have lived in and grown up in). Located at the confluence of the Grand River and the Looking Glass river, Portland is centrally located between Lansing and Grand Rapids, less than 30 minutes to most attractions in either city. A quaint and quiet suburban community, Portland was one of the initial Cool City designated communities by the State of Michigan. Portland features miles of river trails and walks wrapping around the community and crossing both rivers.  A historic downtown shopping district for local shopping, plus convenient access to all the activities, restaurants, and shopping in both Lansing and Grand Rapids make this a great place to call home. Great teachers await in our school district (my kids attend there of course!). Portland came together again in the summer of 2015 to rebuild following a tornado that damaged many historic homes, buildings, and neighborhoods. Come home to Portland, we are Portland Strong!
